Nostalgic school projects can evoke heartwarming memories from simpler times. ThinkFives asked hundreds of teachers which elementary school projects they remembered fondly. Here are their Top 5. Do you remember these?

Popsicle Stick Crafts
These crafts harnessed the structural versatility of popsicle sticks. Whether it was a picture frame adorned with colorful patterns, intricately woven coasters that provided a functional household item, or small trinket boxes built by stacking and gluing the sticks in creative arrays, these projects allowed students to build simple and fun structures.

Macaroni Jewelry
Transforming simple pasta into elegant jewelry, students would string together macaroni that had been either painted or dyed in vibrant colors. The result? Unique necklaces and bracelets that served as a testament to their artistic abilities – and great gifts.

Paper Mâché Globes
Using balloons as a base, students would layer them with strips of newspaper dipped in a glue mixture, creating a hard shell once dried. These spheres were then painted blue and adorned with the green of continents, with some students labeling countries, oceans, and cities.

Handprint Turkeys
A festive craft, especially around Thanksgiving. Students would lay a hand flat on a sheet of paper, fingers spread out, and trace its outline. The result bore a striking resemblance to a turkey. Crayons, markers, or paint, students would bring their turkeys to life.

Shoebox Dioramas
scene. Using a mix of handcrafted items, drawings, and sometimes even miniature figures, they’d recreate scenes from their favorite books, depict significant historical events, or showcase natural habitats. Probably every teacher remembers these from their childhood.
