Top 5 Restaurant Copycat Recipes

Have you ever left a restaurant and thought, “I wonder if I could make this at home?”

We at ThinkFives certainly have. While nothing beats home cooking, there are certainly restaurant delicacies that whet our appetites.

ThinkFives asked teachers what their favorite copycat recipes are and we compiled this mouthwatering list.

Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

A meal at Red Lobster has not officially begun until a basket of their famous biscuits hits the table.

These bad boys are flaky, ultra-cheesy and buttery. The garlic flavor is spot on, too.  The challenge is to limit yourself to one, or more likely a few, so that you can savor your entire seafood combo afterwards.

The best thing about making this copycat recipe at home, is that you can even make the biscuits your entree.  Now, wouldn’t that be cool?

It’s winter and you’re in the mood for a hearty dinner!

Chicken and Dumplings is the epitome of good, hometown cookin’. Savory, salty and rib-sticking, these are one of our favorites at Cracker Barrel, too.

This smothered chicken plate can satisfy a whole family with one recipe.  Comfort food for the family is easy as chicken, dumplings, and salty gravy.

IKEA Swedish Meatballs

Are you like us and work up an appetite just meandering your way through the many passageways at IKEA? When you finally look up and catch sight of that oasis of food, it’s straight to the meatball counter for most.

And if you’re a huge fan, good news! They recently released their secret recipe, and it’s spot on.

While these balls of flavor are wonderful by themselves, what completes this Swedish dish is the rich, creamy gravy with a dollop of that unique Lingonberry jelly.

It may also put you in the right mood for putting together that box of IKEA jigsaw pieces that you brought home.

Don’t want to wait in line at Popeyes? No need to now that you have this recipe.

With chicken sandwiches being the latest crave, the ease of making a handful of these crispy entrees at home will bring a smile to everyone’s face.

The chicken is marinated in buttermilk, coated in batter, and deep-fried into golden perfection. It’s slathered with a sweet, spicy, and creamy mayo dressing and placed between two brioche buns.

Add a side of slaw or fry up some quick potatoes, and you have the perfect Popeyes meal.

Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls

Taking the top spot in our survey of scrumptious copycat recipes are those irresistible buns of sweet sugar, Cinnabon’s cinnamon rolls.

Whether you bake them for breakfast, lunch, or a treat anytime during the day, the best thing is that they will saturate your kitchen with the sweet smell of cinnamon and icing.

Perhaps a little rich for breakfast every day, but as a special weekend treat they can’t be beat.  These spiced rolls are soft and chewy and smothered with that ridiculously rich cream cheese frosting.

Ah, I can smell them now!
